Global Health Innovative Technology Fund (GHIT Fund)
The Global Health Innovative Technology Fund (GHIT Fund) is Japan’s first public-private partnership to advance the development of new health technologies for the developing world. The first product development fund of its kind in Japan, the GHIT Fund was created by the Japanese Government, Japan’s leading pharmaceutical companies, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The GHIT Fund is bringing Japanese leadership in health and technology innovation from its public and private sectors to the global fight against infectious diseases. The goals is to facilitate and fund global health R&D partnerships that can generate new drugs,vaccines and diagnostics and other tools for fighting neglected diseases prevalent in developing world (www.ghitfund.org)
