Funding Opportunities
The GHIT Fund invests in the research and development of new health technologies, including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics, for infectious diseases prevalent in low-income countries (LICs) and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs).
Eligibility Criteria
Application forms, review and evaluation are conducted in English.
Eligibility

- Project: The proposal must align with the Project Scope, Disease Scope, Project Duration, and Budget as outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

- Partnership: Each proposal must have at least one Japanese organization (headquarters in Japan) and one non-Japanese organization.

- Organizational Information: Each organization must submit a certified copy of its registration and financial statements (audited by an independent auditor) from the most recent 3 fiscal years.
Others

- Project duration should be less than 2 years.

- Budget: For the Target Research Platform, the maximum budget per project is 100 million yen. (As of June 2025. Maximum budget is subject to change with each RFP.)

- The partnership must nominate one organization as a Designated Development Partner (DDP), which has the primary responsibility for the project’s execution including financial management.
