Funding Opportunities

The GHIT Fund invests in the research and development of new health technologies, including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics, for infectious diseases prevalent in low-income countries (LICs) and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs).

Eligibility Criteria
Application forms, review and evaluation are conducted in English.

Eligibility

Project: The proposal must align with the Project Scope, Disease Scope, Project Duration, and Budget as outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Partnership: Each proposal must have at least one Japanese organization (headquarters in Japan) and one non-Japanese organization.
eligibility_03
Organizational Information: Each organization must submit a certified copy of its registration and financial statements (audited by an independent auditor) from the most recent 3 fiscal years.

Project duration should be less than 2 years.

Budget: For the Target Research Platform, the maximum budget per project is 100 million yen. (As of June 2025. Maximum budget is subject to change with each RFP.)

The partnership must nominate one organization as a Designated Development Partner (DDP), which has the primary responsibility for the project’s execution including financial management.
