We are proud to announce that GHIT Fund CEO Osamu Kunii has been appointed chairperson of the Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Committee.

The Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize honors those who have carried on the spirit of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi by making exceptional contributions to Africa in the fields of medical research and medical services, thus contributing to the health and welfare of the African people and of all humankind.

The vision of the GHIT Fund is a world free of neglected infectious diseases that affect over a  billion people with the aim of achieving health equity. To do this, it invests in the development of innovative drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics for infectious diseases, such as malaria, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) that afflict the world’s most vulnerable people in underserved populations and low- and middle-income countries.

Through the activities of the Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Committee, the GHIT Fund will strive to further contribute to medical research and medical services in Africa.
