The Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund today announced the appointment of Dr. Sally Nicholas as a new member of the institution’s Selection Committee (SC), which evaluates investment proposals and reports from development partners and makes investment recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Dr. Nicholas is an immunology expert and head of the Health Systems and Environment division of Wellcome, where she is dedicated to strengthening health systems and increasing access to medicines globally. Dr. Nicholas has designed and led one of Wellcome's flagship initiatives, deploying £20 million per year to reduce the burden of enteric and diarrheal diseases in low- and middle-income countries. Dr. Nicholas' in-depth knowledge and experience in global health investment strategy and immunology will be an outstanding contribution to the GHIT Fund’s investment review and project implementation process.

We would also like to note that Dr. Timothy Jinks has retired from the Selection Committee as of the end of June 2024, following the completion of his term. We express our gratitude for his extensive experience and depth of knowledge in research and development of drugs and diagnostic products for neglected diseases that contributed to the success of numerous innovative product development projects. We extend our heartfelt thanks for his longstanding contributions to the GHIT Fund.
