The Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund today announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Jorgensen as a new member of the institution’s Selection Committee (SC), which evaluates investment proposals and reports from development partners and makes investment recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Jorgensen is a diagnostics expert who has over thirty years of experience in biotechnology, specializing in in-vitro diagnostics development, validation, and manufacturing. He has a wide range of practical technical expertise ranging from technical support to portfolio development for nucleic acid assays of hepatitis products. In addition, as an industry expert, he has also experienced regulatory approvals and laboratory design/operations, we expect Mr. Jorgensen's in-depth industry knowledge to play a pivotal role as GHIT investment progresses to the late-stage development phase.

We would also like to inform that Dr. Dennis Schmatz and Dr. Ralf Clemens have retired from the Selection Committee as of the end of January 2024, following the completion of their terms. We express our gratitude for their dedicated support to global health and their wealth of experience and insights that contributed to the success of numerous innovative product development projects. We extend our heartfelt thanks for their longstanding contributions to GHIT.
