March 24 is World Tuberculosis Day.
World TB Day is observed annually on March 24 to raise awareness about TB and efforts to end the global epidemic, marking the day in 1882 when the bacterium causing TB was discovered.
Many people may think that TB is an old disease, but around the world, approximately 1.6 million people die from TB every year. This is the second leading cause of infectious disease death after COVID-19
Through partnerships, we will continue to connect pharmaceutical companies, universities, and research institutes in Japan and overseas partners, to fight against infectious diseases.
