Dr. Piot received the Prince Mahidol Award 2013 in the field of Public Health

Dr. Peter Piot, GHIT Fund Board Member and Director of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine received the Prince Mahidol Award 2013 in the field of Public Health on January 29th.

“We need to devote more attention to the protection of men who have sex with men and drug users and continue fighting stigma, especially among the young, which is very important to fight against the epidemic”, said Dr. Piot in his conference speech. His remarks emphasized the necessity for more efforts to prevent HIV among men who have sex with men, drug users and marginalized communities that face a high risk of infection, and the elimination of stigma against people living with AIDS.
