New York Times: Japanese Companies Attack Neglected Diseases

A new and innovative drug discovery approach by the "Neglected Tropical Diseases Drug Discovery Booster” consortium, launched by three Japanese pharmaceutical companies and Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), was featured in the New York Times. The consortium will circumvent early stage commercial barriers between pharmaceutical companies, allowing DNDi, for the first time, to screen millions of unique compounds simultaneously in the hunt for new treatment leads for leishmaniasis and Chagas disease.
